Cross Country
Being part of the SHS Cross Country team is so much more than just being part of a high-endurance sport. We are a team of athletes that supports one another’s endeavors, setting both team and individual goals throughout our Fall season. Runners can expect an inclusive, motivating, and fun environment paired with plenty of competition. Outside of our typical 5-day training and practice schedule, you can expect to find the XC team involved in a variety of community outreach projects and team-building events. Our athletes have supported the Reach the Beach 200-mile relay race in New Hampshire by facilitating an aid station for competitors, sponsored Haven Shelter meals for the homeless, hosted a home meet at Millstone Trails in Barre, performed trail maintenance at Millstone, volunteered at the Barre Heritage Festival 5K, hiked Camel’s Hump, and more recently, competed in the 3-day, 120-mile Ragnar Vermont Trail relay at Mt. Ascutney. Try to keep up with us! The XC team welcomes athletes of all levels. We hope to see you in the Fall! Roll Tide!
