Program of Studies
Dear Parents, Guardians and Students,
Our mission at Spaulding High School is to prepare our students for success in an ever-changing world. We do this by providing a wide range of learning opportunities for students to engage in rigorous and meaningful coursework, learning experiences to enhance their interests and skills, and flexible opportunities to access their education.
The Program of Studies is a comprehensive document outlining the course offerings, course sequence and related requirements for high school students. Our current Programs of Studies is available by clicking here or by clicking on the photo to the right.
Students are encouraged to maximize their learning experiences during their high school career and are expected to be fully-scheduled with at least four blocks scheduled, or the equivalent thereof.
All courses are organized by department and sample career pathways are included to help in selecting proper courses to best prepare for post high school plans.
We encourage our students and families to review the graduation requirements, course options and flexible pathways that we offer within the Program of Studies, and I recommend that parents and guardians review their child’s Personalized Learning Plan (PLP). Each student has a GoEnnounce account where their PLP is maintained, and parents and guardians should receive an email alert each time it is updated. It is important that students and families understand the importance of continually updating their PLP and documenting their learning experiences throughout their four years at SHS.
This is truly an exciting time in education. The focus is clearly upon student learning and enhancing student interests and experiences. We, at Spaulding High School, look to support each and every learner in having a rigorous and engaging learning experience.
